Today we visited the new Bert-Brecht-Park<\/a>, the first section of which opened in July 2026. The roughly 14,000-square-meter park is located in the middle of the new residential development “Village im Dritten” on the Aspanggr\u00fcnde in the 3rd district, where construction is currently still underway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

By the way, the entire district uses Austria’s largest geothermal probe field for sustainable temperature management: While heat pumps reliably deliver cozy warmth to residents in winter, they simply reverse the principle in summer\u2014acting like a giant refrigerator, they extract summer heat from the rooms and store it deep underground as sustainable cooling for the district.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
